Big Daddy is a fictional character from the BioShock video game series, specifically BioShock and BioShock 2.
They are genetically enhanced humans surgically grafted into hulking diving suits. Created by Dr. Yi Suchong in Rapture, their primary purpose is to protect Little Sisters as they harvest ADAM, a substance derived from sea slugs, from corpses.
Big Daddies are physically imposing, heavily armored, and possess superhuman strength and durability. Their signature weapon is usually a drill, although other variants exist with weapons like rivet guns and ion lasers.
